Amanda Rom
GM Of Chicago Laboratory.
Amanda is the GM, Operations for the Chicago Laboratory. She brings expertise in Large Molecule Bioanalysis, Virology, and Molecular Biology from her over 30 years of experience working for Contract
Research Organizations. Amanda has served as the Principal Investigator for both non-clinical and clinical regulated studies. Most recently, she was responsible for the start-up and management of a Molecular Biology unit at that Charles River Laboratory Skokie site. Utilizing her scientific and regulatory knowledge as well as and people leader skills to have the group ready for regulated studies in less than a year. Amanda is dedicated to providing quality services to clients by fostering a high-performing team and driving operational excellence.
Don Very
Principal Scientist
Dr. Very is serving as a Principal Scientist at Sword Bio.
With over thirty years of diagnostic and pharmaceutical assay development and performance qualification experience in such diverse clinical areas as oncology, infectious disease, and metabolic disease, Dr. Very has extensive experience in all phases of pharmaceutical and diagnostic assay research and device development, performance validation, clinical trial design and implementation, and regulatory approval. Dr. Very is a frequently invited speaker at national and international scientific symposia discussing topics ranging from advances in personalized medicine in oncology, the clinical utility of serum biomarkers in the diagnosis and management of disease, the development and performance qualification of multiplexed immunoassays, and the future of the in vitro diagnostic industry. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Doctorate in Microbiology/Immunology from Boston University.
David Osband
EVP, Sales and Marketing
David Osband is EVP, Sales and Marketing at Sword Bio. Prior to Sword Bio, David was an owner of Cambridge Biomedical, a bioanalytical CRO with expertise in PK, Biomarker and Immunogenicity development,
validation and sample testing for preclinical through Phase IV trials. For the last 13 years David has been involved in successfully growing and operating diagnostic and contract research laboratory businesses. David’s focus is always on finding a way to offer a superior level of quality, science and service to the market than what currently exists. David believes the speed of Sword’s project start-up and completion for preclinical through Phase IV trials, white-glove service complimented by the team’s expertise in the areas of PK, Biomarker and immunogenicity, he can offer another unique product to his partners. Always understanding that at the end of the day the employees, clients and patients are all connected.
