Sword Bio Appoints Dr. Binodh DeSilva as a Board Member
Sword Bio (“Sword”), a contract research organization that supports biotech and pharmaceutical companies with their bioanalytical needs for pre-clinical and clinical trials, announces the appointment of Binodh DeSilva to Sword’s board of directors.
Dr. Binodh DeSilva is an accomplished senior executive experienced in creating highly innovative global scientific organizations in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Currently a Sr. Vice President with Ultragenyx, Dr. DeSilva is experienced in drug discovery and development for both small molecule and biotherapeutics. She is considered an industry leader in collaborating with regulatory authorities in setting guidance for bioanalytical sciences, and a significant company contributor in setting strategic priorities for building high performing organizations with bold visionary goals, multiple integration efforts of small and large organizations.
Binodh received her PhD from the University of Kansas in Chemistry (Bioanalytical) and Post Doctoral training in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry department in Kansas. She has held diverse roles at Procter &Gamble Pharmaceuticals, Amgen, Bristol Myers Squibb with expanding experiences and capabilities. Her scientific contribution to the industry is exemplified by her publications and book chapters. She serves as a Scientific Advisory Board member at TATAA Bioscience, Aliri Bio and Veloxity labs.
Binodh is a mentor and coach to internal/external colleagues and students, with a reputation for building sustainable organizations. She was elected 2017 President of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).
